We are looking for dedicated, pet-friendly people who strive to empower individuals with disabilities to live full, independent lives. We're seeking compassionate and enthusiastic individuals to join a support team for a vibrant, non-speaking young person in Chico, California. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help them achieve their personal goals.
The Role:
We are looking to build a peer-based team around creating independence and expansion of a young adult. This role will include IHSS work as well as employment via the client's financial management service. Willingness to become an IHSS provider is required. As a member of their support team, you will provide personalized assistance tailored to their unique needs and aspirations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating communication using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
- Assisting with daily living activities including feeding through G-Tube.
- Supporting their participation in community events and social activities.
- Encouraging their exploration of new interests and hobbies.
- General transfers and toileting--experience w/ aiding in incontinence is preferred.
- Providing a positive and empowering environment.
- Using creative collaboration to bring the client's ideas and goals to fruition.
What We're Looking For:
- Genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability.
- Experience with AAC devices and mobility aids is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 100 lbs using lift aids for transfers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.

Pay: $20/hr, subject to review after 3-month evaluation.
