Support Incorporated is hiring a Qualified Professional (QP) to join our growing Gastonia Day Treatment Program, working directly with children and adolescents in a structured therapeutic classroom designed to help youth stabilize symptoms, build coping skills, and successfully return to a traditional school environment.
This position allows professionals to work closely with youth throughout the school day, helping them develop the emotional regulation, behavioral, and social skills needed to succeed in the classroom and community.
Professionals with experience in school settings, behavioral health, Intensive In-Home (IIH), residential treatment, or child and family services are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
Monday – Friday | Daytime hours aligned with the school schedule
This position provides the opportunity to work in a therapeutic environment with youth while maintaining a consistent weekday schedule.
Compensation:
Salary range starts sat $41,000 annually
Position Summary
The Qualified Professional will co-lead a therapeutic classroom serving approximately 8–12 youth. Staff work together to provide structured activities, behavioral support, and therapeutic interventions that help youth manage symptoms and improve their ability to function successfully in school.
The goal of the program is to help youth build the emotional, behavioral, and social skills needed to transition back into a traditional classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities
Therapeutic Classroom Support
- Co-lead a structured therapeutic classroom serving 8–12 youth
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups and therapeutic skill-building activities
- Teach coping, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Reinforce positive behavioral strategies and classroom functioning
Skill Development & Symptom Management
- Engage youth in activities designed to reduce symptoms and increase emotional regulation
- Support development of social skills and positive peer interactions
- Provide real-time coaching to help youth manage behaviors and emotional responses
- Reinforce strategies that help youth succeed in a traditional classroom environment
Structured Activities
- Lead therapeutic classroom activities that promote engagement and skill development
- Incorporate movement, recreation, and experiential learning opportunities that support treatment goals
Documentation
- Complete service documentation accurately and within required timeframes
- Maintain documentation in compliance with North Carolina Service Record Standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Must meet North Carolina Qualified Professional (QP) standards working with the child and adolescent mental/behavioral health population
