Job Summary
We are seeking a Healthcare Accountant with experience supporting Supported Living Services (SLS) and other Regional Center (DDS)-funded programs. This role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with DDS and Title 17 regulations, and audit readiness for programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
The ideal candidate understands the intersection of social services operations, program funding, and regulatory compliance, and can effectively support both finance and program teams.
Responsibilities
· Prepare and record monthly journal entries, ensuring proper classification of expenses across SLS and other DDS-funded programs.
· Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including Regional Center receivables, vendor payments, and program-related expenditures.
· Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports to reflect the financial position of supported living and social service programs.
· Manage and process payroll through ADP, ensuring accurate calculations, proper reporting, and compliance with federal and state regulations
· Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, client trust accounts (if applicable), program funding, and claims receivable balances.
· Track and monitor billing, claims, and reimbursements from Regional Centers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Support preparation of DDS cost reports, including identification of allowable vs. non-allowable costs under Title 17 guidelines.
· Ensure proper cost allocation across clients, programs, and funding sources, consistent with service authorizations and program budgets.
· Work closely with program managers and social services teams to align financial data with service delivery and client support activities.
· Support external audits, DDS reviews, and vendor audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
· Review financial records for discrepancies, investigate variances, and implement corrective entries.
· Assist in preparation of annual financial statements, audit schedules, and compliance-related reports.
· Maintain organized documentation to support audit trails and regulatory compliance requirements.
· Provide administrative and cross-functional support as needed.
Experience
· Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in Supported Living Services (SLS), nonprofit, or DDS-funded programs.
· Strong understanding of Regional Center funding, service authorizations, and reimbursement processes.
· Experience with DDS cost reporting and Title 17 compliance preferred.
· Experience supporting financial audits and regulatory reviews.
· Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations) and Quickbooks.
· Familiarity with client trust accounting (if applicable) is a plus.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work with both finance and social services teams.
· Experience with payroll processing, including ADP or similar payroll systems, ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting.
Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
