Job Title: Turret Operator
General Description of Job:
The Turret Operator is responsible for assisting and following direction in regards to Safety, Quality and Production of product that meet our customers requirements. Operators will be required to punch parts on a Turret as well as deburr and de-tab parts.
Essential Job Tasks:
· Turret Operator will complete all required internal and external paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
· Report problems or situations to Department Lead or Supervisor in a prudent and timely fashion as they arise.
· Communicate effectively with engineers, expeditors, managers, office staff and employees.
· Set a good example for others to follow.
· Maintain all quality standards required within the department.
· Inspect all parts manufactured for quality and efficient production methods and report all inconsistencies to Department Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner.
· Perform maintenance as delegated by the Department Supervisor and/or Lead.
· Abide by Employee Handbook including regular attendance and working cooperatively.
Other Job Tasks:
· Meet all company requirements relating to the use of the time clock as well as all other policies and procedures established by Superior Steel Fabrication.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements:
· The ability to read prints.
· Be detail oriented.
· Ability to multi-task.
· Be self-directed and motivated.
· Have good basic math skills.
Education, License and Certification Requirements:
· High school education, or higher, is preferred.
· Must meet all ISO required training as appropriate.
Amount of Supervision Required to Perform Job:
· Must be able to perform with minimal supervision.
Machines and Tools Used:
· Computer
· Grinder
· Measuring tools and devices
· All machines and Tools in the Turret Department.

· Turret & Laser Department Supervisor

Appropriate Work Attire:
· Leather boots that cover the ankle are required.
· Tank tops are not allowed, but cut off sleeves are permitted.
· Clothing that displays profanity, obscenities, or anything inappropriate is not permitted.
· Clothing must not have obvious holes or tears.
· Superior Steel frequently has guests tour the shop; therefore, we ask that employees maintain a professional appearance.
· Safety glasses must be worn at all times in the production shop and outside.
· Denim or work pants are required.
· Sweat pants, shorts, and tennis shoes are not allowed.
· Gloves are recommended for some tasks, but may be hazardous while performing other tasks.
· Ear protection and dust masks must be worn in the grinding room.
· Ask your supervisor for specific information concerning your task.
Environmental Factors and Work Conditions:
· Work atmosphere is mostly indoors and can be noisy and dusty.
· Outside weather conditions affect shop temperature.
· Shop is partially heated in winter.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
