What are the responsibilities and job description for the Milling Operator position at Superior Forge and Steel Corporation?
Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a 3rd shift Milling Operator for our operation in Lima, Ohio. The Milling Operator is a member of our Machining Department responsible for operating a milling machine to mill our forged rolls to customer specifications.
Competitive starting wage is $22.20 per hour, benefit/insurance package, 8 paid holidays, 401K, PTO, Vacation, Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS, and this position is eligible for the Production Incentive Program.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate mills and controller
- Milling rolls to customer blueprint specification
- Inspect milled dimension(s) to customer blueprint
- Reporting all deviations from customer blueprint specifications
- Perform other department duties, as assigned
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
- Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous milling experience required
- Previous experience operating manufacturing equipment and/or heavy machinery required
- Strong math skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Previous CNC machining experience preferred
- Must be able to work any shift
Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen
Classification: Hourly
