As the Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you will serve as a strategic leader driving environmental excellence and sustainability performance across our North American manufacturing operations. This role places a strong emphasis on environmental compliance, resource conservation, and sustainability initiatives, while also ensuring a proactive safety culture and effective workers’ compensation management. You will partner with field operations and leadership to identify and mitigate environmental and workplace risks, implement robust EHS management systems, and lead initiatives that enhance operational resilience and reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
Key Responsibilities

Environmental Leadership

Lead all environmental programs and compliance efforts across manufacturing sites, ensuring full adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (EPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA, and others).

Oversee environmental permitting, emissions management, hazardous waste handling, stormwater and wastewater programs, and sustainability reporting.

Conduct and manage environmental audits, inspections, and site assessments to identify risks, drive corrective actions, and ensure ongoing compliance.

Develop and lead corporate sustainability strategies—including waste reduction, energy efficiency, greenhouse gas reduction, and resource conservation initiatives.

Partner with operations and engineering teams to integrate environmentally responsible practices into manufacturing processes and capital projects.

Safety and Health Management

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety and occupational health programs that promote a zero-incident culture.

Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to drive corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

Collaborate with Human Resources to manage workers’ compensation claims, implement injury reduction strategies, and design return-to-work programs tailored to manufacturing environments.

Leadership and Collaboration

Provide coaching, technical expertise, and training to local EHS personnel, plant managers, and operations leaders.

Collaborate with site teams to ensure consistent execution of corporate EHS standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

Monitor EHS performance metrics, analyze trends, and lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance compliance and reduce environmental and operational risk.

Travel approximately 50% across North American manufacturing facilities to conduct audits, deliver training, and support local teams.

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Occupational Safety (Master’s preferred).

5 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, with significant environmental compliance and sustainability leadership.

Proven expertise in environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, and multi-site compliance management.

Strong working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and NFPA standards.

Experience managing workers’ compensation and safety performance improvement programs.

Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Ability to travel extensively across North America.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the magnet wire or related metal processing/manufacturing industry.

Professional certifications such as CHMM, CSP, or CIH.

Familiarity with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), and IATF standards.
