Description:Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. is a statewide provider of commercial skilled trade services. We specialize in commercial new construction, tenant improvements, and remodels, supported by 24/7 emergency response and comprehensive preventative maintenance programs. We are seeking an experienced Generator Field Service Technician to join our Southern California division.This role offers flexible scheduling options of Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday with occasional travel assignments. The position includes a two-week training period, annual performance reviews, and a company-issued vehicle. Technicians may begin their service routes from their home address or a designated location.The ideal candidate will have at least eight years of recent experience performing generator preventive maintenance and repairs, along with strong commercial electrical knowledge related to stationary generators and their optimal performance.ResponsibilitiesVisually inspect and diagnose issues with natural gas and/or gasoline-powered standby commercial generatorsPerform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, battery replacements, and servicing of belts, spark plugs, and other mechanical componentsDemonstrate mechanical knowledge with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel generator systemsWork effectively with DC and AC voltage systemsTroubleshoot and service Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) with proficiencyConduct load bank testing to ensure generator performance under loadEducate end users on proper generator operation and basic maintenance proceduresProvide service and repair recommendations to maintain equipment in optimal working conditionRead and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagramsOperate a company vehicle and complete fleet maintenance reports as requiredMaintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, and repair work performedCommunicate effectively with management, team members, and clients to ensure clear understanding of service needs and solutionsRequirements:Minimum of eight years of recent experience performing commercial generator maintenanceBasic understanding of NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and general electrical safety practicesAbility to pass a pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle background checkProficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and emailsMust possess personal hand tools required to perform mechanical work and voltage testingWillingness to commute to various job sites using company vehicles within Orange County, Los Angeles County, and/or the Inland EmpireAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environmentSuperior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. is a service and construction company providing customer service throughout California and other states.
