Duties
- Conduct therapeutic sessions with children and families to promote emotional healing, resilience, and positive communication.
- Facilitate supervised visitation sessions, ensuring safety, adherence to court orders, and respectful interactions between children and their parents or guardians.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary, de-escalating conflicts and managing emergency situations effectively.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage engagement and foster motivation for positive change within families.
- Assess behavioral health needs of children and families, documenting progress and adjusting approaches accordingly.
- Collaborate with child protective services, family law professionals, and other stakeholders to support case goals and compliance requirements.
- Manage conflict resolution during visits or therapy sessions, maintaining a calm demeanor and promoting constructive dialogue.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field
- Active Indiana clinical license or license-eligible under supervision, in compliance with DCS service standards
- Experience providing therapy or therapeutic visitation to child welfare–involved families (strongly preferred)
