Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport feed products to designated locations.
- Adhere to scheduled routes and delivery timelines to ensure timely service.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload feed products using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Verify delivery quantities and check for product quality before departure and upon arrival.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Follow company policies and procedures for safe handling and delivery of feed.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or delivery issues to management promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and associated equipment.
- Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and stocking.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Ability to operate and maintain delivery trucks safely
- Strong knowledge of local and regional roadways and traffic laws
- Ability to handle physical workload, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficient in basic math for inventory and delivery documentation
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
- Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed
- Familiarity with using GPS and route planning software
- Ability to maintain accurate delivery logs and reports
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
