Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, test, and service fire alarm systems in accordance with schematics, blueprints, and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, CAD files, and system design documents to ensure precise installation
- Conduct construction inspections to verify compliance with safety codes and project specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to assemble and install sensors, control panels, wiring, and low-voltage systems
- Perform system testing to ensure proper operation of fire alarms, sensors, and related devices; document findings thoroughly
- Provide field service support by diagnosing issues on existing systems and executing timely repairs or upgrades
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to integrate fire alarm systems seamlessly into building infrastructure
Skills
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate system installation
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience to handle complex fire alarm wiring and sensor placement
- Familiarity with CAD software for system layout planning and modifications
- Knowledge of construction inspection procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Experience fitting fire sprinkler systems or related mechanical components is a plus
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment for precise installations and repairs
