Maintenance Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to join our team and ensure the optimal upkeep of our outdoor spaces and facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining grounds, landscaping, and various maintenance tasks that keep our environment safe, functional, and visually appealing. Your expertise in mechanical systems, landscaping, and groundskeeping will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for all visitors and staff. Duties

• Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and gardening to enhance the aesthetic appeal of outdoor areas
• Operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and hardscape machinery safely and efficiently
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules for plants and lawns
• Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and identifying potential hazards to promote healthy growth and safety
• Manage snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for pedestrians and vehicles
• Use hand tools and power tools for routine repairs, landscape installation, or hardscape projects while adhering to safety protocols
• Identify plants accurately for proper horticultural care and pest management; apply pesticides responsibly following safety guidelines
• Perform routine inspections of grounds and facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns; report or address issues promptly

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems, landscaping techniques, horticulture, and groundskeeping practices
• Experience operating lawn care equipment, power tools, irrigation systems, snow plows, and other grounds maintenance machinery
• Strong understanding of plant identification, pest management including pesticide application, tree care, and gardening fundamentals
• Ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions with physical stamina for lifting, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to equipment operation, chemical handling (pesticides), and general grounds maintenance safety standards
• Prior experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping roles is highly desirable
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining outdoor environments

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 10.0 per week
