Required skills and qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in a mechanical environment is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, able to use basic shop tools and power tools, able to use test instruments and a level of fault-finding experience is desired.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting (up to 40 pounds), standing, walking, and using tools.
- Strong documentation skills, basic computer knowledge, and forklift operation experience preferred.
- Technicians will work in high-voltage test environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Overhaul maintenance: Execute all aspects of overhaul maintenance for train and rail vehicle components, meeting production plan requirements.
- Component work: Remove, inspect, replace, and fit components in accordance with work instructions.
- Machine operation: Operate equipment like pressure washers for pre-cleaning and work.
- Material handling: Safely move components using overhead cranes and lifting devices
- Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, accurately document actions and operations, and use a laptop for diagnostics and fault-finding.
