What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Materials Management Coordinator position at SUNY Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Materials Management Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of staff, inventory, storage, retrieval, and shipping of medications within a central fill pharmacy. The Manager will direct staff for packaging for outgoing shipments, manage inventory of shipping containers, work directly with couriers for coordination, coordinate refill distribution back to originating pharmacy and provide training of new staff. Daily planning and assigning work to meet daily shipping and receiving schedules. Complying with established standards and expectations for shipment of pharmacy products on time. Supervise or otherwise perform duties related to receiving, identifying, and storing materials and supplies. Must be a coach type leader and a strong communicator.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two years procurement related experience, preferably in a pharmacy, hospital or healthcare environment, plus strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required. May consider candidates with Associates degree and 4 years procurement related experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree. Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Work Days:
Rotating schedule during operating hours currently 8am-6pm.
