The Assistant Librarian (Systems Librarian) manages core library systems, supports
digital access, and partners with faculty and staff to strengthen research, instruction,
and outreach across the college. This position also serves as a liaison to assigned
academic departments, helping connect students and faculty with library services,
resources, and instructional support.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Manage and maintain the integrated library system, discovery tools,
authentication systems, and other core library technologies.
Oversees, in collaboration with ITS, the technology help desk, including
supervision of help desk workflows, user support, issue triage, and escalation of
technical problems.
Develop and coordinate in collaboration with ITS an internship or co-op program
for technology help desk students, including onboarding, training, mentoring, and
performance support.
Troubleshoot access and functionality issues involving library platforms, online
resources, and related systems.
Collaborate with IT staff and campus partners to ensure reliable, secure, and
accessible library services.
Serve as liaison to assigned academic departments or programs, building
relationships with faculty and supporting curricular needs.
Plan, teach, and assess information literacy instruction for credit-bearing classes,
workshops, and other learning contexts.
Develop online instructional materials, research guides, tutorials, and other
learning objects.
Support faculty in integrating library resources, research skills, and information
literacy outcomes into coursework.
Analyze system usage, gather feedback, and recommend improvements to
enhance services and user experience.
Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty, and staff as
needed.
Contribute to assessment, reporting, committee work, and professional
development activities.

Requirements
Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited
program.
Three (3) years of experience managing library systems, electronic resources, or
related library technologies.
Demonstrated ability to teach information literacy or library research skills in a
classroom or one-on-one setting.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse
community college environment.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the Ex Libris ALMA and Primo platforms.
Experience serving as a liaison librarian or working closely with academic
departments.
Familiarity with learning management systems, LibGuides, authentication tools,
or online instructional design.
Experience supervising or coordinating a technology help desk.
Experience developing student employment, internship, or co-op programs.
Experience assessing instruction, services, or technology use.
Knowledge of current trends in academic libraries, digital learning, and student
success initiatives.
Additional Information
This is an in-person position with a standard workweek of Monday through
Friday.
The minimum salary for this position is $69,821. The annual salary will increase to
$71,881 as of September 1, 2026. Salary offer commensurate with experience and
Qualifications.
