Job description:
The Level II Inspector will operate as part of a dedicated inspection cell team, collaborating closely with other inspectors, technicians, and production personnel to ensure efficient workflow, consistent quality, and timely delivery of inspected components. This team-based structure promotes cross-functional support, shared accountability, and continuous improvement within the inspection cell.
Responsibilities
- Perform calibrations, immersion ultrasonic inspections, and evaluations in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications to determine acceptance or rejection of aerospace components.
- Set up, verify, and maintain immersion ultrasonic systems and transducers to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with approved inspection procedures.
- Interpret and document test results clearly and accurately, recording all inspection data, equipment settings, and evaluation outcomes per quality system requirements.
- Collaborate within a dedicated inspection cell team, working closely with fellow inspectors and production personnel to ensure efficient part flow, consistent quality, and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, actively promoting and participating in Element’s safety culture by observing all company policies, procedures, and best practices.
Skills / Qualifications
- Must hold a current Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) in accordance with NAS 410, SNT-TC-1A, or equivalent aerospace certification standard, with demonstrated proficiency in immersion ultrasonic inspection techniques.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience performing UT immersion inspections on aerospace or similarly critical components.
- Strong understanding of ultrasonic theory, sound beam physics, transducer selection, focal laws, and data interpretation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical procedures related to NDT inspection.
- Proficient in documentation and digital data recording systems used for inspection traceability and quality compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a cell team environment, maintaining communication and collaboration with peers, leads, and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and consistent inspection quality.
