Duties
- Supervise caregiving staff to ensure adherence to care plans, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts while accommodating individual availability.
- Assist with patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans that address each resident’s unique needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, incident reports, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support residents with meal preparation, light cleaning duties, and engaging activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Certifications in First Aid and CPR or additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and assisted living procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts.
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules efficiently while maintaining flexibility for emergent needs.
