Pediatric Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse – School Setting

Location: Bedford Hills / Yorktown Heights, NY
Pay: $42.00 – $52.00/hr.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Employment Type: Part-Time / Per-Diem

About the Role

Are you a passionate caregiver who loves working with children and their families? Sunshine Homecare is seeking a dedicated Pediatric RN/LPN to join our supportive school-based care team.

For this case, you'll be providing one-on-one nursing care to an adorable young boy, affectionately known as the "Mayor" of his school-expressive, joyful, and always ready with a smile.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care during school hours

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

• Monitor and document the child's health status throughout the day

• Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies with appropriate interventions

• Assist with medical devices such as feeding tubes, catheters, tracheostomies (if needed)

• Collaborate with school staff, family, and healthcare providers

• Ensure compliance with care plans from RN Case Manager and physician

• Document care daily and communicate updates with Sunshine Homecare

Required Skills & Experience:

• Clinical Skills:

  • G-Tube Feeding

  • Glucose Monitoring & Insulin Coverage

  • Catheterizations

  • Nebulizers

  • Epi-Pen Coverage

  • Supervision due to Epilepsy

• Strong pediatric care skills and ability to manage emergency situations calmly

• Organized, detail-oriented documentation skills

• Excellent communication with children, families, and staff

• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited RN/LPN program

• Active New York State RN or LPN license in good standing

• Minimum 2 years pediatric nursing experience preferred

• Prior school or community health experience a plus

• Current CPR certification required
