What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Clerk A2 position at Sunset?
The Lakeland Distribution Center, a 30,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7 is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team. The essential function of this position is to lead, supervise, train, and oversee all activities within the production area and support the Warehouse Manager to ensure production goals, initiatives are met within the guidelines of the organization.
Full-Time Shift from 12 PM - 12 AM, Sunday - Tuesday, every other Wednesday
- Compares all incoming shipments waybill information to database for accuracy before receiving.
- Arrange Canadian customs clearance and delivery details for all outgoing shipments. Handles correspondence and electronic mailings.
- Delivers items to requisitioning departments.
- May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping and receiving records.
- Completing reports during and at the end of your shift.
- Notifies manager or planning departments when major discrepancies occur.
- Prepares Bill of Ladings: Checks items shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities are correct.
- Ensures all relevant files are maintained and organized. Forwards to appropriate departments for processing.
- Communicates with others to ensure shipping and receiving related problems are resolved.
- Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other company data, including personnel information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Effective communicate, problem solving and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the use of the English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present information and direction, and field questions from managers, employees, and external contact.
- Microsoft office skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience with scanning and filing documentation.
Working Conditions:
- Work environment is refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation.
- Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending, and crawling on a regular basis.
