What are the responsibilities and job description for the Busser - PT - PM position at Sunset Tower Hotel?
Position Purpose
The busser provides assistance to the wait staff in servicing the guests in a timely fashion. This is a support position for the servers as well as grooming of the restaurant and its perimeters.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain service area assignments at the beginning of each shift.
- Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring crudité, water and bread to the tables.
- Clear table after guests leave, take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
- Between seatings, promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
- Respond immediately and appropriately to guest requests. Communicate these requests to server immediately communicate with server, host and Maitre’ D to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service.
- Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with larger parties and peak periods.
- Thank guests as they are leaving.
- Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness and immaculate uniform presentation.
- Be a team player; help out fellow staff whenever possible.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
- Must be able to effectively communicate.
- Must be able to follow directions with focus to detail.
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job- carry heavy trays and furniture from time to time. (30lb)
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. (up to 8 hours)
