Pay: $20–$24/hour DOE

Responsibilities:
- Independently operate a variety of heavy quarry equipment including front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, and haul trucks to support daily quarry production
- Load, haul, and stockpile crushed stone, limestone, gravel, and other aggregate materials throughout the quarry site in a safe and efficient manner
- Operate and monitor equipment in and around active crusher/screening plant areas, feeding raw rock material into primary and secondary crushers and keeping the flow of material consistent
- Work closely with the site supervisor and quarry foreman each morning to receive daily task assignments, production targets, and any site-specific safety briefings
- Perform thorough pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, including checking engine fluids, hydraulic systems, belts, undercarriage, tires/tracks, lights, horns, and backup alarms — documenting any issues on daily inspection logs
- Identify and report mechanical problems, unusual wear, or equipment damage to the maintenance team promptly to prevent downtime
- Assist with quarry road maintenance and site grading using a dozer or motor grader as directed
- Help move and position large rock and overburden as part of the extraction and processing workflow
- Coordinate with blast crews and site supervisors before and after blasting events — safely clear blast zones, wait for all-clear signals, and assist with post-blast cleanup and rock fragmentation assessment
- Operate haul trucks to move shot rock from the blast site to the crusher or stockpile areas, managing loads according to truck capacity and road conditions
- Maintain clean equipment and a well-organized work area; perform minor preventive maintenance tasks such as greasing fittings, checking tire pressure, and cleaning air filters
- Assist in training and mentoring entry-level operators when needed, modeling safe equipment operation and professional work habits
- Follow all MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific rules at all times
- Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and any required safety training or certifications
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of verifiable experience operating heavy equipment required (loader, excavator, dozer, or haul truck experience preferred)
- Comfortable operating equipment in an active quarry or mining environment
- Strong understanding of equipment safety, pre-trip inspections, and site hazard awareness
- Ability to work independently and take direction from supervisors
- Dependable, safety-minded, and physically capable of working outdoors year-round
- Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus but not required
