We are seeking a motivated Part-Time Activities Aide to join our team! In this vital role, you will create a lively, engaging environment by planning and coordinating a variety of recreational activities designed to promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for our residents. Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging resident activities and events tailored to diverse interests and abilities
- Assist with the development of recreational programs that promote socialization, cognitive function, and physical activity
- Build strong rapport with residents through compassionate communication and personalized engagement
- Coordinate resident participation in scheduled activities, ensuring inclusivity and enjoyment
- Support residents with daily activities of living (ADLs), such as mobility assistance or basic personal care when needed
- Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident feedback to improve program quality
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe, welcoming environment that aligns with residents’ care plans
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or long-term care settings preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and geriatrics is highly desirable
- Strong event planning skills with the ability to develop creative programs for seniors with varying needs
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in recreational therapy is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for record keeping and program documentation
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while maintaining flexibility for resident needs
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in senior care and aging issues counseling
