Marine Canvas Fabricator / Industrial Sewing Technician
Sunset Canvas LLC is a growing marine fabrication shop specializing in custom boat covers, enclosures, marine upholstery, and other high-end custom marine products. Every project is built to order, and we take pride in delivering craftsmanship that protects our customers' investments and looks exceptional on the water.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and building quality products. If you like seeing the finished result of your work and take pride in attention to detail, we'd love to meet you.
This is not clothing sewing. We work with heavy-duty marine materials using industrial walking-foot sewing machines and specialized fabrication equipment.
Previous experience with upholstery, canvas, industrial sewing, or fabrication is highly valued, but we are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn a skilled trade.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial walking-foot sewing machines
- Fabricate custom boat covers, bimini tops, enclosures, and marine upholstery
- Work with marine canvas, vinyl, clear window materials, and other specialty fabrics
- Read patterns, measurements, and work orders accurately
- Prepare materials for fabrication and installation
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and quality control
- Work collaboratively with a small, skilled production team
Qualifications
- Upholstery, sewing, canvas, or fabrication experience preferred
- Experience working with heavy materials is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Comfortable using hand tools and working in a production environment
- Reliable with consistent attendance
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Able to lift and move materials as needed
