Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and clear communication.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using eClinicalWorks.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process payments.
- Manage patient records by updating, filing, and retrieving electronic health records (EHR) with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Answer phone calls professionally using proper phone etiquette; schedule appointments and respond to patient inquiries promptly.
- Maintain office supplies, organize files, perform data entry tasks such as 10-key typing, and support administrative functions using Microsoft Office tools.
- Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans documentation and managing medical records requests efficiently.
- Ensure all front desk operations run smoothly in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail in clerical tasks like filing and data management.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health information management, and clinical confidentiality policies is required.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette are necessary for success in this role.
- Familiarity with office management software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with strong clerical skills such as filing and 10-key typing will ensure efficiency.
