What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Manager position at Sunrise Express Inc?
The main functions of the Shop Manager are to maximize the revenue produced by the repair and/or maintenance of fleet and owner operator equipment through the direction and control of the employees of these functions. The Shop Manager will also bring the shop to a profitable entity through systematic and efficient equipment service scheduling, staff scheduling, labor pricing and parts pricing.
- Implementation of the company’s policies for quality, professionalism and customer service.
- Supervision, measurement and evaluation of mechanics, support staff personnel and other shop employees.
- Monitor all shop activities.
- Establish and coordinate training for all employees under his/her supervision.
Requirements

Education: Must havea High School diploma or equivalent. A two-year degree that is industry specific or four-year degree in Business or Logistics is preferred.
Experience: Five (5)years or more experience in the transportation industry with supervisory and dispatching experience. Must have experience formulating and implementing policy and procedures regarding scheduling, training and repair/maintenance.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Must have proven shop or operations management skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of office computers and business software.
- Must have the ability to produce and present informative training presentations.
- Ability to perform job costing analysis, budgeting and revenue analysis.
- Must have the ability to direct and motivate a repair/maintenance staff and supporting staff.
The Shop Manager has the authority to interview, hire, train, evaluate and terminate as necessary, personnel reporting directly or indirectly to this position.
