Position acts as a Lead Direct Support Professional in the Day Support Activities program for Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg, Inc., a private non-profit Corporation that provides employment and community inclusion services for adults with disabilities. This position is responsible for assisting in the training, supervision, and motivation of trainees and staff to meet their daily goals, engage at or above their established levels and assist them in achieving their highest potential. This position is also responsible for the safety of trainees and staff and ensuring their activities meet our quality standards. The Lead DSP also acts as a mentor for other DSPs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Complete required training within time limits (core competencies, DSP training, First Aid/CPR, etc.)
- Mentor other staff members on trainees’ ISPs, goals, and outings.
- Supervise and motivate trainees/participants to ensure they are engaging safely.
- Ensure outings for trainees are set up before their arrival.
- Complete attendance sheets and timecards for trainees.
- Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
- Attend required staff and safety meetings and training courses when scheduled.
- Maintain agency records in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
- Participate in the development of ISPs with Employment Services (must come to agreement of ISP before presenting to ISP team).
- Submit all required paperwork to respective recipients per scheduled due dates (e.g., record training efforts, trainee productivity, progress towards ISP goals, case notes, incident reports, etc.).
- Keep relationships with trainees professional and limited to work settings and supports. Notify your supervisor of any conflicts of interest due to preexisting relationships with trainees.
- Report any incidents of negligence, abuse, emergencies, or problems to the appropriate agency, person, or supervisor per company policies and procedures.
- High-school diploma or GED, AA degree in related field preferred, and two years’ experience working with adults with I/DD in an employment setting, or acceptable combination of experience and education.
- Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office products, and ability to learn additional software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have ability and desire to relate to persons with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
- Proven, stable employment history.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license and insurable by Sunrise insurance carrier.
- Pass criminal history check.
- Pass drug test. including THC.
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification, complete DSP and Core Competency training and documentation requirements, and may need to obtain OIS Certification.
