Position acts as an Employment Profession/Direct Support Professional and Crew Leader for the Janitorial Services Department of Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg, Inc., a private non-profit Corporation that provides employment and community inclusion services for adults with disabilities. DETAILS
- Janitorial Lead EP/DSP (Swing Shift)
- Full-Time
- $17.50/hr.
- Monday – Friday 5pm - Finish
- At least one year’s experience working with adults with I/DD in an employment setting, two years’ experience working in Janitorial, and one year experience as a supervisor preferred, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work with limited supervision, displaying initiative and creativity in the workplace.
- Must be able to follow directions, as well as work both independently and in groups.
- Must have ability and desire to relate to persons with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license and insurable by Sunrise insurance carrier.
- Pass criminal history check. (May include fingerprints and additional CJIS Background Check)
- Pass drug screen including marijuana/THC.
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
- Driving, standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and climbing stairs
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Janitorial Functions
- Safely drive crew to various account locations in community.
- Provide commercial janitorial services in a team environment with crew members, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, emptying trash, sweeping, toilet cleaning, carpet shampooing (as per contract specifications for each location).
- Control costs of contract, e.g., labor, materials, fuel and vehicle maintenance.
- Inform supervisor in a timely manner when materials or products need to be purchased.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations. (Department of Labor, State and Federal and Oregon Administrative Rules.)
- Do not exceed responsibility/authority delegated to you by supervisor.
- Maintain security at Sunrise and contract facilities.
- Report any incidents of neglect, abuse, emergencies, or problems to your supervisor or appropriate person per policy.
- Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
- Submit timesheets and other required documentation according to established deadlines.
- Participate in required meetings, trainings, and committees.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Assure quality of goods and services provided or sold to customers.
- Serve as role model for trainees and other members of crew.
- Assure quality of Sunrise employment services.
- Serve as a role model for appropriate work behaviors, social skills, respect for others, and cooperation.
- Follow all trainee protocols, including training, employment, medical, and behavioral supports.
- Provide transportation to trainees as needed.
- Complete and provide evidence of training(s) to meet state requirements for Direct Support Professionals.
- Keep relationships with trainees professional and limited to work settings and supports. Notify your supervisor of any conflicts of interest due to preexisting relationships with trainees.
- Assist trainees to acquire and develop the skills, behaviors, attitudes, and personal characteristics required to function effectively in a work environment.
- Assist Employment Services staff in providing case management of trainees as directed. This includes trainee goal setting and training that would maximize their employment potential.
- Ensure job stations for trainees are set up prior to their work shift. Ensure processes are in place to keep the flow of material to job stations constant.
- Other related duties as assigned.
