Qualifications:
- High-school diploma and two years’ experience working with adults with I/DD in an employment setting, or acceptable combination of experience and education.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Must have ability and desire to relate to persons with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
- Proven, stable employment history.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license and insurable by Sunrise insurance carrier.
- Pass criminal history check.
- Pass drug test.
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Must obtain OIS Certification and believe in its philosophy.
- Assure quality of Sunrise Enterprises services.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations. (Department of Labor, State and Federal and Oregon Administrative Rules.)
- Accept supervision and work cooperatively as a team member with all Employment Services staff as well as with the other department managers, trainees, and employees.
- Teach good work habits and social skills to individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities in a variety of settings, motivating and assisting trainees to work productively.
- Provide emergency assistance as outlined in policies.
- Orient new trainees to work site on first day.
- Learn Core Competencies within first 90 days.
- Provide training to staff on Core Competencies assigned to you.
- Assist with all duties associated with time study development.
- Exhibit sensitivity and respect for privacy and dignity of individuals.
- Report any incidents of neglect, abuse, emergencies or problems to supervisor, appropriate persons, and Employment Services Director per policies.
- Follow up on all incident reports before submitting to Employment Services Manager within allotted time frame.
- Develop ISPs (Individual Support Plans), with assistance from appropriate DSPs/Lead DSPs. Train the ISPs to all DSPs and new staff within the allotted time, documenting all trainings.
- Attend staff meetings and ISP meetings of assigned trainees.
- Monitor/observe all assigned trainees and DSPs, stepping in when necessary to provide immediate training.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of medical administration or behavior management plans.
- Develop and maintain good professional relationships with service providers and funding agencies. Assist and serve as program liaison to home providers, parents, county DD Services, Connections consultants, and other funding and service agencies and providers, as directed.
- Coordinate all factors required for state and federal certifications.
- Keep relationships with trainees professional and limited to work settings and supports. Notify your supervisor of any conflicts of interest due to preexisting relationships with trainees.
- Maintain and monitor agency records and case files in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
- Monthly follow up on progress notes, tracking/data sheets, and any other documentation generated by ISP team, and submit time sheets and other required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain safe work environment.
- Serve as a role model for appropriate work behaviors, social skills, respect for others and cooperation.
- Participate in all intakes and exits for the departments to which you are assigned.
- Provide support to trainees as needed in the resolution of problems that interfere with their ability to remain gainfully employed.
- Assist with task analysis, norms, and timings to make sure they are done in a timely fashion.
- Inform Department Manager, co-workers, and Employment Services Manager of trainees’ progress, changes, successes and or needs on an as needed basis, verbally and/or in writing.
- Do not exceed responsibility/authority delegated to you by supervisor.
- Perform job and exhibit good judgment in situations not specifically covered by agency policy and/or procedures.
