Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant café team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while preparing high-quality coffee and food items. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, engaging with customers and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Prior experience in coffee preparation and food service is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. A strong focus on food safety, POS operation, and sales skills will contribute to success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to company standards
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for transactions, orders, and returns
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly
- Manage cash handling accurately, including cash register operations and sales processing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, adhering to food safety standards
- Assist with food preparation and serving, ensuring quality and presentation meet expectations
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers efficiently
- Upsell products and promote specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Follow all food handling procedures and safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Barista or in food service preferred; coffee experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Good math skills for cash handling, retail math, and basic calculations
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in serving, food preparation, and retail math is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed
