We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dedicated caregiving team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse populations, including geriatric and developmentally disabled individuals. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately while maintaining detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient service in various settings such as long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection.
- Assist with patient transfers using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and physiology knowledge relevant to acute care, geriatrics, behavioral health, and pediatric populations when applicable.
Skills
- Proven experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems) such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Strong background in medical-surgical nursing, ICU, emergency medicine, or post-acute care environments.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient handling.
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) including CPR confidently and effectively.
- Familiarity with specialized care needs such as hospice, Level I/II trauma center experience, or Level I trauma center experience preferred.
- Excellent caregiver communication skills with the ability to connect compassionately with residents of all ages and backgrounds.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required for patient transfer methods and safe lifting practices.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges is advantageous.
