Job Description
We are a growing sales and processing business based in Ocala, Florida seeking a part-time Senior Bookkeeper to manage and maintain our financial records. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can not only keep accurate books, but also provide guidance and oversight to a junior team member.
This is an ongoing position with a mix of in-office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks
- Perform transaction categorization and monthly reconciliations
- Handle invoicing and manage accounts receivable/payable
- Process payroll (with upcoming third-party payroll system integration)
- Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries
- Provide financial highlights and insights to support decision-making
- Ensure books are clean and organized for CPA review
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and year-end deadlines
- Coach and support a junior/inexperienced bookkeeper

Qualifications
- Senior-level bookkeeping experience
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks
- Experience managing A/R, A/P, and payroll processes
- Ability to generate and interpret financial reports
- Comfortable advising on financial organization and best practices
- Experience mentoring junior staff is a plus
- Bookkeeping certification preferred but not required
- Industry experience in sales or processing is a plus
Schedule & Work Style
- Part-time (hours to be determined)
- Ongoing monthly engagement
- Combination of in-office (Ocala) and remote work
- Some availability during business hours required, with flexibility for async work
Communication & Expectations
- Provide weekly summaries and updates
- Proactively identify issues and recommend solutions
- Communicate via email, text, and occasional calls
Additional Details
- Access limited to accounting software (no direct bank access)
- Confidentiality agreement (NDA) required
Compensatioin
- Hourly rate (based on ecperience)
- Open to discussion depending on qualifications and scope
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
