Position Title:
Child Nutrition Manager
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in food service management is preferred.

Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and USDA Child Nutrition Program regulations.

Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare required reports.

Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, vendors, and district personnel.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform duties requiring standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.

Job Goal:
To manage the daily operation of the school's Child Nutrition Program by providing nutritious, appealing meals in a safe, efficient, sanitary, and welcoming environment while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations.
Reports To:
Director of Child Nutrition
Performance Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and supervise the daily operation of the school cafeteria.

Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate cafeteria personnel.

Ensure all meals are prepared and served in accordance with USDA, Mississippi Department of Education, and district guidelines.

Maintain high standards of food quality, sanitation, safety, and customer service.

Monitor food production, portion control, and inventory to minimize waste and control costs.

Order food, supplies, and equipment as needed while maintaining accurate inventory records.

Maintain all required production records, temperature logs, inventory records, financial reports, and other documentation.

Ensure proper operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment and report repair needs promptly.

Monitor daily meal counts and cash handling procedures in accordance with district policies.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, serving area, dining room, storage areas, and garbage collection area.

Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup as needed.

Coordinate special meals, catering events, and district functions as assigned.

Promote positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and parents through professional customer service.

Ensure compliance with local health department inspections and corrective actions when necessary.

Attend required district and state professional development and training sessions.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Child Nutrition or Superintendent.
Terms of Employment:
Salary, contract days, and work year shall be established by the Sunflower County Consolidated School District Board of Trustees.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with district policy by the Director of Child Nutrition or designee.
