What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026-2027 Child Nutrition Worker (Cafeteria Worker) position at Sunflower County Consolidated School District?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of the responsibilities listed below
- Capable of lifting heavy boxes, sweeping, and mopping
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift 10 pounds
JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition manager
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Assist in the preparation of food portions and prepares cafeteria counter
- Serve students and staff from the cafeteria counter
- Remove used dishes and assists in the cleaning of dishes, counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area and kitchen
- Maintain the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform related duties as required including duties at special meal functions
- Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as requested by his/her supervisor(s)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year established by SCCSD School Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated bi-annually by the Superintendent.
