Role Summary
Sunesis Construction is seeking a Bridge / Structures Lead Estimator to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts within our Construction Division. This role focuses on bridge and structural projects for ODOT, INDOT, KYTC, county, municipal and private clients. The ideal candidate is a strategic, construction-minded estimator who can assess risk, lead complex pursuits, and mentor estimating staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating and preconstruction for bridge and structures projects
- Develop bid strategies, pricing, risk assessments, and contingencies
- Provide go / no-go recommendations to senior leadership
- Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and schedules
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and safety teams
- Lead value engineering efforts
- Maintain historical cost data and productivity benchmarks
- Support post-award transitions and post-bid reviews
- Mentor and develop estimating team members

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of heavy civil bridge and structures estimating experience
- ODOT, INDOT, KYTC experience preferred
- Proven ability to deliver accurate, timely estimates
- Working knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid preferred
