We are seeking a friendly, energetic Bakery Associate to serve as the face of our bakery. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the shop and offer prompt assistance.
- Answer questions clearly regarding ingredients, allergens, and flavor profiles of baked goods.
- Suggest complementary items to increase overall daily sales and promote specialty products.
- Take accurate orders for custom cakes, catering, or advance pastry boxes in person and over the phone.
Point of Sale & Transactions
- Operate register systems efficiently to ring up cash, card, and mobile payments.
- Count cash drawers accurately at the start and end of your scheduled shift.
- Issue correct change and receipts to customers while keeping the checkout area moving.
Merchandising & Shop Upkeep
- Package baked goods carefully using boxes, bags, tissue paper, and custom labels.
- Restock display cases continuously to keep items looking fresh, full, and appealing.
- Maintain pristine cleanliness by wiping counters, sweeping floors, and washing display glass regularly.
- Brew fresh coffee and refill drink stations, sugar, lids, and napkins throughout the day.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous retail, barista, or restaurant guest service experience is preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills with a polite, helpful, and positive attitude.
- Basic Math: Ability to calculate totals, tax, and change quickly without errors.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lean over counters for an entire shift.
- Detail-Oriented: Precision in writing down custom order dates, names, and design details.
