What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Supervisor position at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa?
The Sundial Beach Resort and Spa located on Sanibel Island is currently seeking an experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our Culinary team. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for creating and producing all food products from the Sundial kitchen by ensuring proper cost control, effective safety, sanitation processed and the highest level of quality started in timing, taste and presentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs all functions and positions in the Sundial Kitchen as needed, with the ability and knowledge to create advance soups, sauces and specials
- Assists with Menu Development.
- Oversees the hotline and expedites as needed.
- Assist with the training and development of culinary associates.
- Ensure the completion of all prep and menu items in accordance with recipes and special requests
- Creates daily specials and meets with wait staff and cooks to conduct tasting./ training for up sell opportunities.
- Ensures deliveries are properly stored and organized.
- Preps for soups, salads, cold and hot buffet stock and backup.
- Communicates between shifts and ensures adequate prep for the next shift.
- Assists with organization of items in the kitchen to ensure consistency and efficiency in producing of all food items.
- Performs other duties as needed by the Culinary Management team.

- Knowledge of advanced cooking techniques with 5 years of progressive culinary experience in high volume restaurant setting.
- Previous exposure to hot and cold food preparation as well as prior Garde Manger and pastry experience.
- 2-3 years experience and willingness to train and develop staff.
- ServSafe Certification required.
