You'll mentor interns, manage advanced Trimble systems, build 3D models, and ensure precise layout surveying in the field. Things You’ll Do
- Mentor and train construction interns
- Layout survey for construction projects and place stakes in ground for construction crews.
- Setup and maintain Heavy Equipment Machine Control systems.
- Operate and troubleshoot Trimble global positioning system (GPS), electronic distance measuring (EDM), and standard surveying equipment.
- Build and Modify project 3D models.
- Work with project managers and superintendents to produce and work with calculations in the field, read construction plans, and process survey data.
- Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues.
- Maintain insurable driving record.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
- 4-5 years of construction layout experience.
- Experience with Trimble surveying equipment.
- Professional license is not required but a plus
- Experience operating UAVs (drones) for aerial surveying and mapping.
- Data preparation for GPS machine control systems
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills
- Knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software- Terramodel, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Inroads
- Knowledge regarding control setup, GPS, and conventional.
- Experience with surveying and measuring equipment
- Ability to organize and to foresee and resolve conflicts
- Knowledge of transit lasers and pipe layers is preferred
