Summary of Duties
The Account Manager independently manages a defined portfolio of donor group accounts and is responsible for developing, executing, and adjusting recruitment strategies that directly impact SunCoast Blood Centers’ blood collections and community engagement efforts. This role exercises discretion and independent judgment in planning donor recruitment initiatives, setting account-level collection goals, prioritizing outreach efforts, and determining engagement strategies across assigned territories.
The Account Manager serves as the primary strategic contact for assigned accounts and represents SunCoast Blood Centers in the community. This position requires sound judgment, relationship management expertise, and the ability to evaluate performance data and market trends to drive continuous improvement, in support of SunCoast Blood Centers’ mission to bring people together to save lives through innovative blood services and therapies. The role requires scheduling flexibility, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends, based on operational needs and community partnerships.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strategic Donor Group & Account Management
•Independently manage a portfolio of donor group accounts across schools, businesses, government agencies, religious organizations, and community partners.
•Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans for a high-volume portfolio of mobile blood drives annually (typically exceeding 100 events per year)
•Prospect, cultivate, and maintain long-term donor group relationships to sustain and grow collections.
•Analyze donor group performance, market trends, and collection data to identify opportunities and risks.
•Exercise independent judgment in resolving account challenges, donor group concerns, and operational barriers.
Volunteer Leadership & Event Optimization
•Coach, train, and mentor volunteer drive chairs to optimize donor engagement and drive success.
•Determine engagement strategies and volunteer support needs for each account.
•Serve as the primary advisor to donor group leaders regarding best practices for successful blood drives.
Community Engagement & Representation
•Represent SunCoast Blood Centers as the primary decision-maker for assigned accounts in corporate, educational, and community settings.
•Deliver presentations, conduct meetings, and establish partnerships that support recruitment goals.
•Recommend organizational commitments and opportunities based on community needs and strategic value.
Organizational Collaboration & Compliance
•Collaborate with Recruitment, Donor Services, Marketing, and Operations to align strategies and support organizational objectives.
•Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting to ensure data integrity and donor privacy compliance.
•Ensure assigned activities adhere to FDA, AABB, OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
•Participate in organizational meetings, training, and professional development activities.
•Provide strategic insight and recommendations to leadership regarding territory performance and recruitment initiatives.
•Perform other related duties as assigned to support SunCoast Blood Centers’ mission, vision, and operational goals.

Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or equivalent relevant work experience.
Experience
Minimum two (2) years of experience in account management, sales, recruiting, customer relationship management, or a related field, with demonstrated responsibility for managing multiple accounts or territories.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in managing accounts and recruitment initiatives.

•Reliable transportation and ability to travel regularly within an assigned territory.
