The Assistant Director of Intake will be responsible for assisting the Intake Director in building, growing and maintaining acceptable facility census levels by managing the facilities inquiry and intake/assessment/admission process and provide customers with facility-related information assessments, conversation and follow-up. Providing direction and oversight to alumni and community outreach coordinators.
Job Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Health Records Management
- Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, including Word and Excel, and the ability to learn billing software and electronic medical records.
- Ability to operate office equipment (fax, copier, mail, etc.)
- Customer service experience
- Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, community based organization
- Commitment to maintain confidentiality
- Understanding of SCH’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and all patients in all circumstances
- Employment contingent on background check, CANTS and all other applicable requirements as require by law to include DASA and Joint Commission
Essential Functions
- Help assesses each intake call for suitability for admission
- Help support, train, and maintain intake team of coordinators and representatives
- Collaboration with Intake Director to help maintain a responsible census at each facility
- Assists in assessing and approving clinical information, demographics, and financial information on each potential patients.
- Coordinate action plans for the admissions staff regarding all steps in the intake and admissions proves and ensure procedures are followed properly.
- Conduct phone or face-to-face interviews with prospective clients as well as managing and scheduling prospective patient screenings
- Obtain necessary consent and disclosure, identification, and financial documents needed to admit client into the program.
- Oversee the administration of operations of the intake department by direction of the Intake Director
- Conducts initial evaluations to determine the treatment level needed for each potential patient.
- Schedules evaluations, meetings, and consultations for patients.
- Facilitates all incoming inquires of prospective clients, loved ones, and mental health/medical professionals with a sense of urgency and compassion
- Obtains insurance authorizations as indicated
- Other duties as assigned
