Position Overview:
The Director of Capital Markets will play a key role in expanding the firm’s investor base and sourcing fundamentally strong acquisition opportunities. This position requires a self-starter with deep industry connections, strong capital-raising abilities, and a keen understanding of commercial real estate markets. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between investors seeking strong returns and opportunities aligned with the firm’s investment strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Equity Raising
- Develop and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, smaller institutional investors, and private equity partners.
- Create and present investment proposals, offering memoranda, and performance reports to prospective investors.
- Manage the full fundraising lifecycle - from prospecting to closing commitments.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure investor communications, due diligence, and reporting are timely and accurate.
- Attend and represent the firm at investor conferences, networking events, and industry forums.
Deal Sourcing & Acquisition Support
- Identify and pursue new acquisition opportunities that align with the firm’s investment criteria.
- Build relationships with brokers, developers, and property owners to source off-market and value-add deals.
- Conduct preliminary financial analysis, market research, and feasibility assessments for potential acquisitions.
- Collaborate with the acquisitions team on underwriting, due diligence, and transaction execution.
- Maintain a pipeline and tracking system for potential investment opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or MSRE preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, capital markets, or real estate investment.
- Proven track record in raising equity for commercial real estate projects or funds.
- Strong network within the real estate investment community.
- Deep understanding of real estate financial metrics, investment structures, and market trends.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
