This opportunity is for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support educational needs at a school setting in Statesville, NC. This contract position begins April 1, 2026, and runs through May 29, 2026, with a strong possibility to continue into the 2026/2027 school year. The role is Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week (7 hours each day) from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site sign language interpreting services for a student at Troutman Elementary with a 1.1 caseload.
- Arrive ahead of student arrival daily, prepared to facilitate clear communication and access to all educational instruction.
- Collaborate effectively with educators and support staff to ensure student success.
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality in all interactions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) credential required.
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher preferred.
- Candidates holding RID certification are eligible, even without EIPA.
- Must be able to provide onsite interpreting services; remote or Voco assignments are not acceptable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to a school environment.
