A leading medical center in Eastern Nebraska is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide exceptional care in their Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) for a 13-week contract. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic acute care environment, supporting patients who require highly specialized and attentive nursing care.
Schedule/Hours:
- 36 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year of experience in a stepdown or PCU nursing role
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
- Demonstrated clinical assessment skills and critical thinking abilities
- Strong communication and time management skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care in a stepdown/progressive care environment for adult patients with high acuity needs
- Perform ongoing assessments, monitor vital signs, and promptly report changes in patient condition
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and specialized treatments as ordered
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with facility protocols
