School Social Worker in Coventry, RI

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1 years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time middle school social worker position is available for the current school year on a contract basis, starting as soon as possible through June 16. This role supports students within a middle school setting, focusing on social and emotional well-being, crisis intervention, and collaboration with staff and families to promote student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services to middle school students
• Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and deliver counseling as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district policies
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and support services coordination

Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island School Social Worker license required
• Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
• Strong knowledge of social work practices within educational settings
• Ability to conduct assessments, develop plans, and implement interventions effectively
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with school teams
