Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2 years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Deliver advanced respiratory care in a dynamic hospital environment in Douglas, AK, providing critical support to patients of all ages, including infants. This contract opportunity offers the chance to utilize your skills in an acute care setting, coordinating closely with physicians, nurses, and patient families to ensure comprehensive respiratory management.Key Responsibilities:Assess, recommend, and implement respiratory therapy plans, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation.Manage airway care, intubation assistance, medication administration, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary rehabilitation techniques.Obtain and document essential diagnostic data such as arterial blood gases, pulmonary function tests, pulse oximetry, and ECGs.Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and therapeutic practices, including smoking cessation.Operate and chart through computerized systems such as Meditech.Provide night shift coverage independently, with the ability to stabilize infants and manage acute respiratory situations pending medivac.Qualifications and Experience:Minimum 18 months recent acute care respiratory therapy experience; 3 years preferred.Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC.Graduation from a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program and an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.Mandatory certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).Comfortable working alone during night shifts and capable of infant stabilization.Schedule and Dress Code:Varied shifts available; scrub attire required.About Douglas, AK:Nestled near breathtaking natural scenery, Douglas offers a serene and tight-knit community atmosphere.
