The role is a full-time contract position based in Chicopee, MA, requiring flexibility to float to similar or lower acuity units and work every other holiday and weekend.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct and indirect care to adult and adolescent psychiatric patients.Maintain a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in core behavioral health principles.Collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement, and document individualized patient care plans.Take charge responsibilities and support floating as needed without additional multiplier.Apply nursing process from a trauma-informed recovery model.Utilize crisis management and de-escalation techniques as required. Qualifications and Desired Experience:Active RN license in the State of Massachusetts required; BSN preferred.Minimum of one year experience in adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric nursing.CPR certification required.Experience with restraint reduction, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques preferred.Strong critical thinking, communication (oral and written), and electronic medical record proficiency.Ability to foster therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.Skills in time management, delegation, coaching, and teamwork.Flexibility, creativity, and professionalism in managing stressful clinical situations.Location Insight Chicopee, MA:Nestled in the heart of Western Massachusetts, Chicopee blends rich industrial history with vibrant community life.
