This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures, with a focus on continuous assessment and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing nursing care based on the nursing process, consistent with the medical plan of care and patient input.
- Collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care across all age groups, including neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Conducting patient assessments, monitoring vital signs, and managing any complications or adverse reactions during the postoperative period.
- Implementing teaching and discharge planning as integral parts of patient care.
- Delegating certain nursing care tasks to other staff based on their clinical competence and legal scope of practice.
- Ensuring documentation is thorough, accurate, and timely.
- Advocating for patients needs and comfort throughout the recovery process.
