OR RN - Newark, NJ

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Registered Nurse Experienced in Operating Room Procedures is needed for a contract assignment in Newark, NJ. This role requires an individual with at least 1.5 years of OR nursing experience, specifically in circulating duties. The position supports a broad range of surgical specialties including general, gynecologic, urologic, orthopedic (including joints), neurological and spine, vascular, bariatric, thoracic (VATS), ENT, with robotic surgery experience considered a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Circulate in the operating room for various surgical procedures, supporting new and experienced surgeons.
• Assist in preparing the OR for surgeries and maintain sterile environments.
• Utilize Epic charging system for documentation and billing purposes.
• Participate in on-call rotations: every 4 weeks including weekend 12-hour shifts, weeknight shifts, and occasional holiday coverage as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Schedule:

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM to 11:30 PM).
• On-call duties as described above, with schedule accommodations discussed and approved prior to contract signing.

Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey RN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience circulating in an operating room setting.
• Knowledge or experience in robotic surgeries is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously and respond effectively in high-pressure surgical settings.
