Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Pahoa, Hawaii

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide skilled nursing care for adult patients in a medical-surgical setting within a 50-bed unit. This role includes flexibility to float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units as needed. The position is a 13-week contract, offering approximately 36 hours per week after orientation, with variable shift lengths and days, including day or night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive med-surg nursing care to patients aged 18 and older.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
• Maintain professional nursing standards and attire.
• Participate fully in a department-specific orientation program during the first week.

Qualifications & Experience

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state required by the assignment start date.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in med-surg or higher acuity care settings.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and lengths with no guaranteed hours or shift preference.

Additional Requirements

• Must arrive by the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
• No holiday release time off requests permitted.
• Professional nursing attire with closed-toe shoes required; no specific scrub colors.
