Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a high school student on a 1:1 basis near Oxnard, CA. This contract position offers a blend of onsite or virtual work, aligning with scheduled periods during the school week. The role focuses on delivering accessible communication for a student requiring comprehensive interpreting services in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for a high school student during designated class periods.
• Collaborate with educational staff to ensure effective communication and inclusion.
• Adapt to onsite or virtual work environments seamlessly to meet student needs.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all educational settings.

Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday:
  • Period 2: 10:18 AM 11:48 AM
  • Period 3: 12:29 PM 1:59 PM
• Friday (schedule may vary):
  • Period 2: 10:36 AM 11:50 AM
  • Period 3: 12:31 PM 1:45 PM

Qualifications:

• RID Certification (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) is required.
• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher preferred.
• Proven professional experience working as a school interpreter.
• Strong communication skills and adaptability in both onsite and virtual environments.
