JOB SUMMARY:
The Center Manager is directly responsible for working with the Administrative staff of the agency to provide an environment that meets the requirements of OHS Regulations. Fulfills requirements specified by the state licensure system. Is responsible for supervising all center staff and working with the Early Head Start Site Manager to facilitate the smooth operation of the Center. Observes and monitors classrooms to ensure positive guidance techniques. Shares responsibility for the training and technical assistance of the staff they supervise. Performs other related duties as needed or assigned.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Coordinates and/formulates all Center plans, compiling and making written reports as required, including daily curriculum plans and monthly planning/reporting sheets from the classroom staff.
2. Evaluates the monthly reports for all service areas for neatness, completeness, and accuracy before submission.
- Oversees the maintenance of the Center and equipment; work orders, requisitions, properly inventories, and distributes materials to classrooms.
- Maintains accurate files on children and staff for the Center, and all necessary data entry.
- Routinely visits classrooms. Gives or obtains guidance and technical assistance to staff in the areas of developmental screening, curriculum development, and demonstrating the use of educational materials, including guidance in CLASS.
- Supervises center staff and completes introductory period and annual evaluations on assigned center staff during the year.
- Provides support to center staff as needed to integrate the various program goals and objectives for Head Start children and families.
- Observes and monitors classrooms to ensure that guidance techniques reflect redirection, conflict resolution, and shadowing to adhere to the program’s policies and procedures of positive guidance for young children.
- Observes and monitors classrooms to ensure the principles of CLASS are implemented and adheres to roles and responsibilities as outlined in the program’s policies and procedures.
- Maintains and implements a thorough knowledge of OHS requirements, agency policies and procedures, or designated early childhood standards, and State Child Care Licensing Regulations, SC Early Learning Standards, Infant/Toddler Guidelines, standards, and procedures for NAEYC and ITERS.
- Works cooperatively and professionally with supervised staff, co-workers, and parents.
- Coordinates transportation for Head Start children and families.
- Promotes good health and nutrition. Provides a safe environment that is free of factors that contribute to or cause illness or injury. *
- Attends all meetings and disseminates information to the center staff.
- Coordinates the monitoring of children’s daily absences.
- Coordinates center committee meetings and submits plan to Family Partnership Facilitator for approval to ensure agency guidelines are met.
- Reviews the application/interview process for completion and accuracy.
- Works in conjunction with Site Manager (if applicable) to effectively facilitate center operations.
- Obtains and maintains CLASS reliability and provides support and guidance to classroom staff.
- Coordinates volunteer activities, including recruitment, orientation, assignments, and supervision.
- Attends all required training and maintains Pediatric First Aid/CPR; takes advantage of professional development training/opportunities to improve leadership competence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary : $42,578 - $46,835
