Location: Calabasas, CA (Onsite)

Contract Duration: 6-month contract to start with potential for extension or conversion based on performance and business needs.

Schedule: Mon-Fri - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Description

The Metrologist within Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring quality control programs. This role focuses on improving quality output through data analysis, system evaluation, and process optimization. The position ensures products are manufactured according to specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements while tracking and resolving defects.

The Metrology specialization supports new part development, qualification, validation, and provides analytical support for Production and Quality Assurance teams on existing components.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise measurement, analysis, testing, and reporting activities
• Support engineers in product development, qualification, and validation processes
• Conduct root cause analysis for dimension-related issues
• Develop and validate inspection methods for new components
• Write SOPs and work instructions as needed
• Partner with Product Development, Supplier Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure design specifications are measurable and robust
• Reduce dependency on external vendors for metrology setup and execution
• Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced colleagues
• Work independently on non-routine assignments and technical tasks

Required Qualifications

• Experience with CMM Programming using Mitutoyo COSMOS
• Experience using measuring instruments such as:
• Optical comparators
• Vision systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify key issues and patterns from incomplete or conflicting data

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience
• Detailed knowledge of metrology procedures and administration
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
